Meadows

the utah headwaters initiative will triple the acres we protect in the next five years.

Meadows play a key role in effecting condition and water flow for the Great Salt Lake watershed. These ecosystems are botanically diverse and serve as wildlife habitat because of their abundance of food and cover. Meadows also play a crucial role in combatting climate change as healthy soils are known to capture and store carbon.

The Summit Land Conservancy is working across four counties of the Wasatch Back to save land faster than ever. Over the next five years, we aim to protect approximately 36,000 acres of critical mountain and meadow landscapes.
